Garrett's Space Wellness Programs

You belong here.

At Garrett’s Space, you’ll find a judgment-free, welcoming community where you can share as much or as little as feels comfortable.

Our weekly virtual groups and monthly in-person gatherings provide a safe space to connect with peers who understand what you’re going through.

Guided by professional facilitators, our participants engage in discussion, mindfulness practices, creative expression, and movement exercises to build coping skills.

Everyone in our community started as a newcomer—you don’t have to face these challenges alone. Support and connection are waiting for you.

What Our Community Wants You to Know

Joining a new group can feel hard, especially one about mental health. We get it. That's why we asked our participants: "What would you tell someone who feels hesitant about joining?" They've been exactly where you are now. Here's what they want you to know (shared with permission):

  • “If you need a place that makes you feel safe, this place is great.”

  • “Go for it! I was hesitant to try it but ended up really feeling more connected and heard.”

  • “If you’re looking for a space where you can either get advice or just talk about your problems without judgment, this is the place!”

  • Our group members are young adults ages 18-28 who have a primary diagnosis of depression and/or anxiety who:

    • Are engaged in therapy or treatment with a mental health professional or would be willing to do so (we can help!)

    • Can commit to regularly attending a weekly support group

    • Can engage respectfully and commit to our group norms

    • Live within 50 miles of Ann Arbor

    • Is currently having symptoms of psychosis or mania

    • Has a history of physically or sexually assaulting others

    • Is currently using substances that could interfere with their ability to engage in or attend groups

    • Is imminently suicidal

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, please immediately contact or visit an Emergency Resource.
